Travelogue of Davos

今日は雨が降ったけど、かえって蒸し暑い〜。
今回（7/28）のトピックは、"Travelogue of Davos"でした。

Labrador retrieveは犬の種類として、有名ですが、Newfoundlanderというのは、（私にとって）あまりなじみがありませんでした。

Davos Rhode: this is a famous place
Davos Rhode: this is where the first transAtlantic radio signal was received, by Marconi
「カボットタワーは、マルコーニによって最初の無線通信が受信された場所です。」
Davos Rhode: no, it was named Signal Hill before that, because it was used to send semaphore signals to ships
「そこは、船に手旗信号を送るために使われていたため、実験より前からシグナルヒルと呼ばれていました。」

私は、カリブーとトナカイが同じ動物ということ、知りませんでした。
